Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox was born in Aberdeen Scotland on December 25 1954. Dorothy Farquharson, and Thomas Allison Lennox were her parents. Lennox was awarded a scholarship to study at London's Royal Academy of Music for 3 years. Lennox survived off a student's stipend, and worked part-time to supplement her earnings. Lennox made the decision to alter her profession following her dissatisfaction with her inexperience and lack of talent contrast to others Royal Academy students. Lennox was a flute player in the band Dragons Playground in 1976. The band did not make it to the talent contest New Faces on I.T.V. The main part of her role was The singer for The Tourists from 1977 until the year 1980. The band was where she got to know Dave Stewart and together they formed the duo Eurythmics. Lennox was then able to begin work on her solo debut album Diva and it was released by 1992. The album was an enormous success both commercially and critically.
