Maureen Denise McCormick born 5th August 1956 Woodland Hills California, youngest daughter, and the sole son of Richard McCormick. Her father was an educator at school and her mom was a stay at home mom. Michael Dennis and Kevin are three of her elder brothers. From a young age McCormick enjoyed singing and dance, and she would frequently perform puppet shows for the neighborhood children. She was crowned her first contest, the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley Contest at age 6 and was then contacted by Pat Domigan, a talent agent with the Jack Wormser Agency. He asked her if she wanted to join the business of show production. McCormick was hired to star in her first major performance in 1964 on the tv spot for Mattels new doll, Baby Pattaburp. McCormick also starred in a commercial in the year 1964 for the Mattels Chatty Cathy toy and soon was chosen to play the leading character on the play Wind It up and It breaks, a production at La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick, chosen from more than 1500 auditioned children, was cast as the oldest of three double-headed daughters, in The Brady Bunch (1969), starring Florence Henderson and Robert Reed. The show ran for five seasons. McCormick wrote in her book Heres the Story Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice Published In 2008 McCormick disclosed that during the 5th season of the TV show she almost lost the love of her life to her brother Barry Williams. He was 19. She was 16. The timing would not have had worked out for us, she told me.
