Maureen Denise McCormick was born on August 5 1956, in Woodland Hills California the youngest and only child of Richard and Irene McCormick. Her father worked as an educator at school and her mom was an at-home mom. Michael Dennis Kevin is her older brother. She has three siblings. McCormick began performing and singing from a young age. In the year she turned six, McCormick was crowned at the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest. Pat Domigan from the Jack Wormser Agency then called her and asked whether she was interested in a career in showbusiness. McCormick was commissioned to perform in her first major part in 1964, in an tv commercial featuring Mattels latest doll Baby Pattaburp. She did another commercial in the year 1964 for the Mattels Chatty Cathy toy and soon she was given the main character in The Wind It up and It is Broken, a show at La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch In 1969 McCormick was chosen from a field of 1200 children who auditioned to be the youngest of three towheaded daughters on the new TV comedy The Brady Bunch starring Florence Henderson as well as Robert Reed as newlyweds with the family of a blended couple.
